Non-Palletized Storage Systems

Non-Palletized Storage Systems

Not all warehouse storage involves pallets. For individual items, cartons, components, garments, and long or awkward loads, a separate category of storage systems applies — each designed around the specific geometry, weight, access frequency, and handling method of what is being stored.

Shelving systems range from light-duty modular and wire shelving for retail or pharmaceutical environments, through medium and heavy-duty long-span configurations for bulkier goods, to automotive-specification systems engineered for the load and access demands of vehicle parts distribution. Cantilever racking handles long, irregular, or bundled items — timber, pipes, profiles, sheet materials — that do not sit easily on conventional beam levels. Carton live storage uses gravity-fed lanes to maintain first-in, first-out rotation, making it well suited to high-velocity picking of time-sensitive or perishable goods. Mobile shelving maximizes floor utilization by eliminating fixed aisles, while single-upright systems make use of walls and narrow spaces that standard double-entry racking cannot occupy.

For operations with high SKU counts and low pick quantities, modular compartment systems fit within existing racking to create dense, organized pick faces without additional footprint. Vertical lift modules bring automated retrieval to smaller items, improving both speed and accuracy. Garments on hangers require dedicated rail-based systems that maintain presentation and condition throughout storage and fulfillment.
